What’s New?! Books…

Over the past month, I’ve been doing some thinking.

That has brought me to this point.

I am so excited about what I am about to start doing.

What?

Are you on the edge of your seat? 🙂

Well, here it goes…

I am going to join the community of BookTubers…

YYYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!

What does that mean?

Well, it means that I am about to dive deep into a community of people that love talking about books on YouTube.

I am looking forward to this. I really enjoy blogging and reading, among many other things. I’ve been trying to find something to “youtube” about, but I didn’t want it to be about my hair. You know, I’m an African American woman with natural hair and although I like watching the “natural hair” videos, I decided not to start my own…but I digress. 🙂

BOOKS! BOOKS! MORE, MORE, MORE BOOKS!

Can you feel my excitement?! I’m sure you can.

I’m about to fall out of my seat. 🙂

On another note, about books…

I am also working on a project that has me excited times 2.

I’ll be cataloging my books.

Now for those of you who aren’t that much into books, you are probably thinking…”what? why?”

Well, when we moved, I was able to put my hands on all of my books. I was able to see what I have, what I haven’t read, and what I want more of. This led me to a decision that I want to have a system of knowing more about those topics. I am really looking forward to this project.

YES!!! I AM A BOOK LOVER!!!

I buy books…digital books…hardback books…paperback books…kids books…cookbooks…crafty books…books, books, books….

Catching Up

Wheeeew!!!

It feels like I haven’t blogged in months, but to be honest…it has only been a month.

I feel like I haven’t discussed the things that have been on my heart and mind for quite some time.

Now for those of you who don’t blog, you might be thinking that I could easily discuss these thoughts with people in my life and …well, you are correct.

Still there is something about blogging that is different. For someone like me, a writer at heart, blogging takes my natural love for words and my desire to express myself to a whole different level.

I’m saying “people like me”, but I believe that social media is proving that many of us in the world long for an outlet to express ourselves.

Anyway, I have been missing my blog. (those of you who blog probably know what that feels like)

I’ve been busy with grad school and my family. (Summertime)

Now that the summer is coming to a close, things will get back to normal, kinda.

A lot is going on in the world and a lot is happening inside of me as well.

To Things I Enjoy…

Today I am working on two things that I enjoy, my blog and knitting.

I am working on a hat pattern that I got off of Ravelry. It’s called Child’s Self-striping Hat by Janet D. Russell. I started working on it in the beginning of December. It is a really easy pattern. I had to get a circular needle that wouldn’t cause my stitches to stretch. I am using the Adriafil Knitcol yarn in a rainbow color of pink, purple, and yellow.

I am making this for my baby girl. I tried it on her and it is a little big, but that’s because I thought that here head was bigger than it is. I know that’s funny, but it’s the truth. She’ll be able to wear it when she hits 6 months.

I will also be adding some content on my page about blogging, Twitter, and Facebook. I have found that people have a lot of questions about the ways that they use the internet, but they aren’t sure what to ask. I have also been having a few conversations with my Twitter, Facebook and family about blogging intentions and techniques. I plan on adding a few posts to my site about topics like this.

It’s kinda weird, but I find myself saving photos and headlines in my phone so that I can writ a blog post about the topic later. The funny thing is that I very rarely to back and actually write about the topic. I find that although I seem to believe that I will, I’m not actually going to go back and write a post on the topic. That’s why it’s important for me to blog about a topic while I feel like discussing it.

I guess you can call me a spontaneous blogger. Setting schedules and pre-posts just isn’t my thing. At least not right now in my life anyway. If do plan out a post, it’s a miracle that I actually post it.

Now I have to empty out my phone’s photos because they are taking up a lot of memory on my device. I hate to let them go, but I’ve got to do it.

Surprise…Things Are Changing

With all of the celebrating and the holiday festivities, we have learned that there is a lot to celebrate…

I know I’ve been super quiet, but I just couldn’t post anything. I thought I would spill the beans. Recently we found out that we are expecting our fourth baby. That’s right! I’m pregnant. SURPRISE!!!

I am super excited! I know that this next year will be full of great things and an adventure of a life time.

Since my life is changing, my blog will be as well. Being the mom of three is no longer fitting. With that, I’ll be revamping my site and trying to focus and structure things in a better way. I have so many things planned for this blog and as my life changes and we, my family, grows, I look forward to the new topics to discuss, stories to share, and opprptunities to connect.

All around, I am so excited, I can hardly contain myself.
