For all of you visiting my blog for the first time. I am married to a wonderful man and we have three great children. Now I know that every mom says that about their kids, but I really mean it. When I say great, I mean…My kids are adventurous, intelligent, fun, loving, caring, athletic, and did I say, adventurous? I know I probably did, but I just need you to understand that my kids give me a ride and although sometimes, I’m holding on by a thread, it is so much fun being their mom.
Lets take tonight for instance. We all know, well those of us who have been anticipating the ultimate blog party, that we needed to get ready for April 1st. Well, although I knew I needed to get ready, I wasn’t sure what I needed to do, so I naturally I got the kids in the bed early and I thought that I would have time to do all that needed to be done for the party. Well as I sat in my living room on my netbook reading the posts on 5minutes for mom, my oldest son, X-man came out of his room and told me that his little brother, Ice Man, had gone into his room and taken his scissors. I was concerned, but I knew that nothing terrible had happened because Isaiah has had scissors before and the worst thing that he has ever done was cut his blanket in half. Yes, I know that’s bad, but at least he hadn’t attempted to cut his or anyone else’s hair. Yet…yes, I did say yet. X-man explained that Ice Man was in the bathroom with the scissors pretending to cut the lines in the bathroom. He was only pretending, right?! Well, as Isaiah stood in front of me with this really innocent look on his face, I realized that it looked like a patch of his hair was missing. He grabbed his hair and said, “What’s this in my hair?” I thought to myself, caught between an frown and a smile, “You have got to be kidding me!!!” I just knew that my son had not cut his hair. Boy was I wrong. He cut it down like someone had put a clipper to his head and gave him a one in a circle. Well, I talked to him and punished him. I collected all of the scissors from around the house and I sent him to bed.
My daughter kept calling my name saying that she needed to be changed, so I to her to check, because she often times plays tricks on me just to get me to take her out of bed, only to find that she really did need to be changed. While changing her, I noticed that there were balls of hair on her clothes…you guessed it. Isaiah had decided that he wanted to play barber and cut some of his sister’s hair too. Now thank God that neither case is extremely bad, but it all happened as I was trying to prepare.
This is just a little taste of my life as a mom. Its fun and funny. As I thought of what had just happened, I was tickled by the way that it happened. I even took a picture and laughed at the face Isaiah made as he stood there not knowing if he was taking a mug shot or a photo for grandma and granddaddy.
Remember…they are really great kids, just adventurous…
I’m just a fun going mom. I am always looking for great things to do with my friend, family, and kids. I enjoy knitting, reading, singing, dancing, and I love God with all of my heart. I am extremely excited about this UBP2011 and I look forward to meeting you.
