I’m not the person to make New Year resolutions. I have seen people do it and never keep them. I’m not sure if it’s for a lack of commitment to self or if it’s just because they are doing it out of tradition. However, I am a very goal oriented person. At least, I like to think of myself this way. 🙂 If I make a goal and keep it before me, I will accomplish it.
What I decided to do for the year of 2014 is decide a few goals that I can commit to accomplishing for myself.
My list was pretty long. I typed it up and sent it to myself via email. Some of the things on my list were pretty private, but there are a few that I don’t mind sharing. I wanted them to be measurable goals. By doing this I eliminate general statements. I am very specific with them and I plan to hold myself to them.
My 2014 Goals
Simple things I want to do in 2014
Not in order by priority
1. Read the Bible in one year
2. Write a book
3. Clear my inbox
4. Read at least 12 books
5. Blog at least once a week
6. Knit 6 projects
7. Write an affirmation everyday
8. Make 3 quilts
9. Make 2 blankets
10. Learn to sew clothes
11. Work out a minimum of 3 times per week
12. Learn to bake bread, cake, and various types of cookies from scratch
13. Teach my daughter to read normal sight words
14. Play more board games with my kids at least once a week
Wow! That was 14. 🙂
I am very excited about this and I plan on keeping track of my progress. I may even blog at the end of every month about my status or progress.
Have you committed to completing any goals for yourself? If you don’t mind sharing, what are they?
