Christian Mom Reads Book Club

I recently decided to start a group on goodreads.  It is such an awesome website with multiple avenues of expressing our love for books, that I decided to start the Christian Mom Reads group.

Here is a description of the group:

With all of the hustle and bustle that we as moms experience, we often experience a longing to have a place to call our own.  This is one of those places.

We can read books that touch our hearts and encourage our souls.  Want to just share what you are reading or find a new author or book to read?  This is the right group for you.

Ever wonder if the content of a book is appropriate for yourself or for your family?  Together we can read and discuss the different types of books out there and come to a well thought out decision as to whether or not the book is what we desire for both ourselves and our families.

We want to read books that are fun, encouraging, entertaining, expressive, and inspiring…yet those are not always easy to find. Let’s explore together.

We can discuss books and the adventurous life of mothering, together, one book at a time.

If you are interested in joining the group you can visit the Christian Mom Reads Goodreads group page.  You can also like the Facebook page for the group.  I will also be creating new posts for the group on this site as well. So if you want you can stay tuned and you won’t miss a thing.

A Bit Extra

Being Mrs. Mom Radio

Earlier this week, I decided to add in an element of communication to my blogging experience. I don’t know if it would be considered blogging because its radio. That’s right!  I have decided to start doing radio segments. These segments will be about 15 minutes long, for now. On Being Mrs Mom radio, I’ll be […]

To Things I Enjoy…

Today I am working on two things that I enjoy, my blog and knitting. I am working on a hat pattern that I got off of Ravelry.  It’s called Child’s Self-striping Hat by Janet D. Russell.  I started working on it in the beginning of December.  It is a really easy pattern.  I had to get a […]

Working On My Sweater

Back in November, I headed to my local yarn shop to buy some yarn. I saw one of the clerks wearing a sweater that I thought was beautiful. As she and I discussed sweater making, she told me that she had actually made the sweater that she was wearing. Thrilled to hear that she had […]

  1. Liked the fb page! So much of what I like to read might be thought of as inappropriate as I like medical and police/government novels with good guys and bad guys.

Thanks for your support. I think good guys and bad guys are good. I just don’t want to read things that will take me to a place of changing or challenging my character for the worse instead of for the best…you know?!

      • Yes, I know what you mean. I am having a rough time with the book I am reading right now because of the language in it. It is a police novel and they seem to think bad language is a given. The story is so interesting and the characters are, too. I have to pray about whether or not to read this author again which is rough because I really do like his characters.

I know what that’s like. It’s a hard choice that I’ve had to make many times over. It’s one of the reasons why I wanted to start the group. So that we wouldn’t feel alone on the journey.

What’s the name of the book?
