Walk It Out Wednesday

Getting It Out Of My System

March 26, 2014 By Mrs. Mom 4 Comments

Every have so much on your mind that you can’t function?

Ever have to focus on one thing, but can’t seem to because you are focusing on something else?

Well, that’s me today.  I have to do a lot of school work, but my head really isn’t in it today.  I can’t let it just sit. I’m really good at that.  If there were a class for letting your papers sit until the day before they are due…I’d get an A.  In fact, I think they would ask me to teach the class.  This is actually a habit that I am working on breaking.  I am trying to make sure that I am more consistent in what I am doing.

I have really big dreams, goals, and aspirations, but I often times let the fear of failure get in my way.  It stops me in my tracks.  I long to be so perfect at all that I do, that at times, I end up doing nothing.

OK…After writing that, I am asking myself if I really want to publish it and my answer is yes, I do.  I don’t want to hide behind a lie or a fa-sad of perfection, knowing that I am a work in progress.

If you’ve read my blog any, then you know that I am on a mission to encourage myself and others to be 100% authentic.  So this is my space of grace for myself today as I say how I really feel about that topic.

This isn’t even the reason why I was writing this post, but I just went there and it’s ok…

The things that I have on my mind are knitting…

20140120-120511.jpgRemember this sweater?  Well, mine will be a bit different, but I’m still working on it.  I just have to make sure that I find the time to knit.  With all of my other projects, it feels impossible, but…you make time to do what you want to do, right?!

I am also thinking about working on my new web design website.

simplyinspiredlaunchpadYes, that’s right!  I am establishing myself as a web designer.  I will be working on the web development in the near future.  However, the first step is to set up my design site.  I am so excited about this!  If you’d like to get in contact with me about designing your site send me an email at admin@simplyinspireddesigns.com .  You can also check out the website.  It will launch on April 15, 2014.  The site is http://simplyinspireddesigns.com

What else do I have on my mind?

Oh not much.  Just getting into grad school, reading, a few book reviews that I’ve been asked to do, my podcast, and Blog Talk Radio show,  my new bible study coming up, a crochet project to be completed, a website to be updated, a proposal to be sent out, a blanket to finish, another website project, and a card to make for a special young lady.  That’s about it…no there’s more.  I’m just going to stop for now.  None of this includes the things that I do for my family.  😉

I have a to-do list to make sure that I am not overwhelmed by it all. Oh and I’m blogging about it to get it out of my system.

Now I can focus on my school work.

Do you ever have times when you feel like you can’t move forward with something because you have too many other things on your mind?  What do you do to make sure that you are able to focus?  Do you have a characteristic that you are working on, like me…consistency?  Share your thoughts with me by leaving a comment below.

Here’s to getting focused!!!

Have a nice day 🙂

What if?

December 11, 2013 By Mrs. Mom Leave a Comment

Today, I watched this video. As I sat and watched it, I ask my self questions. There were things that could say and there are points that I can argue with about the video, but ultimately, I have to say that it inspired me.

I began to think…

What if I stop allowing fear to have a place in my life?

What if I lived completely free?

What if I stopped hiding and allowed my personality to shine through 100%?

What if I became courageous and worked on my dreams and goals?

What if I lived like I was going to die tomorrow? How beautiful would my life be?

I don’t mean any of this in a negative way…I’m just saying that I am looking at my life and wondering what it would be like to walk in the freedom that God gave me through Jesus. I’m wondering how much I hold back…what do I hold on to?

I want to be all that God created me to be. I want to live until I am an old woman…135 old woman 🙂 Yet who knows when their time is up on this earth. Hezekiah knew and asked for more time. I want to see my kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids grow up. I want a life worth living and inspiring!

Today I am thankful for the inspiration. I am thankful for the encouragement.

Lord,
Help me to live this life to the fullest. Help me to walk in faith and to live courageously. Let my life be inspiring and full of love and joy. Help me to be the best that you created me to be. In Jesus’ mighty name. ~Amen

Walk It Out Wednesday 6/6/12

June 6, 2012 By Mrs. Mom Leave a Comment

Today is the first of many…It is the middle of the week. It is the day when many of us are ready for the week to be over and we are looking forward to the weekend. Well, we are going to turn this day into something else. It is going to be Walk It Out Wednesday.  On this day I want you to think of five things that you would like to get accomplished by the end of the night.  You can choose 2 things that you will do by 11am, another that you will do by 1pm and the last 2 that you will do by 11:59pm.  ( If that is not convenient for you, set your own goals to achieve, but they must be accomplished by 11:59pm) Now I understand that this may seem like a stretch, but let me tell you…YOU CAN DO IT!!!  All it takes is for you to trust that God will help you as you put one foot in front of the other in order walk this day out, giving it all that you’ve got.  These things can fall in any category that you desire.

Here is my list for Walk It Out Wednesday…

Morning

1.  Clean My Kitchen

2.  Have quality time with my kids without distractions

Noon

3.  Read My Bible

Evening

4.  Complete at least one assignment for one class

5.  Fold Laundry and Put it Away

After they have been accomplished, I will come back and blog about them.  Today I declare “I CAN DO IT! I WILL WALK IT OUT!!!”

Feel free to post your 5 things in the comment section and to blog about the on your own blog if you have one.
